HOW HAS SOCIAL MEDIA CHANGED SOCIETY?

HOW SOCIAL MEDIA HAS CHANGED SOCIETY

20 years ago people were beginning to know about the internet, but it was only in use for government agencies. In 1969 the Internt has its official origins, and it became offialy open to the public and the U.S Army.
Today we all can use the internet and its social media which is in there as well.

SOCIAL means a shoring of ideas, opinion, images etc.
MEDIA is a place where publications ocurr.
With this social media we have changed our society in different aspects.
We have changed our way of expressing our opinion, ideas, etc.(Our ideas spread fast). Also news, information etc. which some years ago needed days or weaks to spread, now takes seconds. Governments have changed with social media.(No longer will the expression of an opinion be able to be complitely silenced.)
The social media has changed economy and its structure. Nowadays you can buy everything on the internet(holidays, clothes, food, hauses...)
It has changed communication between people with sites like Facebook, Twitter, Skype etc. where we can all share opinion, ideas, pictures , chat with each other and also hold video conferences. This is a very positive aspect I think , because now we are able to communicate with people that life on the other side oft he world without difficulty.
Nowadays we have learned that with the internet and social media you can make alot of money and use it as tool for your buisness or company(making publicity, comunication etc.)

I think all these aspects and a lot more show us that the internet and social medias have changed and will continue changid our social structure.

Wikileaks & Anonymous

Some days ago, we talked about Wikileaks, Anonymous and all this things and I think it had been a interesting speaking class.
WIKILEAKS is an international, online, self-described not-for-profit organisation that publishes submissions of private, secret, and classified media from anonymous news sources, news leaks, and whistleblowers.
It was created by Julian Assange in October 2006.
File-Julian_Assange_(Norway,_March_2010).jpg
The WikiLeaks website says their goal is "to bring important news and information to the public... One of our most important activities is to publish original source material alongside our news stories so readers and historians alike can see evidence of the truth."
I think that Wikileaks is doing a good jobb and doesnt do anything bad to us, it want to show the truth to everyone.

Mars speaking class, Twitter.

Mar today has talked about Twitter.
Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters, known as "tweets". It was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey and launched that July. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with over 300 million users as of 2011,[6] generating over 300 million tweets and handling over 1.6 billion search queries per day.[3][8][9] It has been described as "the SMS of the Internet."
It has over 300 million users.
We think that is an interesting program for people who want to know or learn about things of other countries or people, but we wont make an acount now.

Peters and Anas speaking class

Peter has talked about Spotify yesterday.
Spotify is a program in internetwere you can listen to music. There are 2 different versions of Spotify, the free one and the one were you have to pay.If you dont pay you cant download music and you can listen to it only on your computer.
We think that it isnt such a good program because you cant own the music you only can listen to it and there arent some important groups like THE BEATLES.
Anas has talked about MarvinSketch, this is a program for phisics.

MarvinSketch is an advanced chemical editor for drawing chemical structures, queries and reactions
Things you can do:
1.Chemical structure drawing
2.Reaccion drawing
3.Query drawing
4.Atom and Bond properties
And many other things but its complicated and to much to explain, we think that its a quite interesting program for those people who need it.

Kikes and Diegos speaking class

Today Kike and Diego made their speaking class.
Kike tallked about GPS.---> GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites.
We talked about utilities of GPS, we use it to find places, in military, medicine,police...
There are also games you can play with GPS systems. (finding and highding,geocatching..)

Diego tallked about vector lines.
A portion of the vector field (sin y, sin x)
In vector calculus, a vector field is an assignment of a vector to each point in a subset of Euclidean space. A vector field in the plane for instance can be visualized as an arrow, with a given magnitude and direction, attached to each point in the plane. Vector fields are often used to model, for example, the speed and direction of a moving fluid throughout space, or the strength and direction of some force, such as the magnetic or gravitational force, as it changes from point to point.
